A person’s life and well-being is priceless. The struggle and challenges surrounding a traumatic event, like a traffic collision or personal injury, can leave victims feeling like a mere shadow of their former selves. Nevertheless, we believe navigating through a tragedy not only strengthens you personally but also empowers you to inspire others with your resilience when they hear your story.

2025 Scholarship Winner: Aidan Kirk
My name is Aidan Kirk and I attend Faith Lutheran Middle School & High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a member of the Nevada National Wrestling Team and a captain of my varsity wrestling team. Wrestling has shaped who I am and taught me how to overcome the impossible multiple times. What started as a major elbow injury with many complications along the way, became an experience that strengthened my resilience, discipline, and mindset.
In addition to wrestling, I have also played varsity football, as an outside linebacker and tight end, and earned the Defensive Player of the Year award. Additionally, I work as a youth football coach, football referee, and I have also founded a sports training business called, Faith in Fundamentals. I love coaching and mentoring young athletes to teach them the skills they need to build their confidence and believe in themselves.
Beyond athletics, I enjoy giving back to the community by volunteering at the Reno Rodeo, helping elementary schools with events, and building homes for families in Mexico. In school, I am involved in business, leadership, and debate classes that inspired me to study business finance with a minor in business audit. In the future, I plan to use my degree, leadership abilities, and mindset to continue to take on challenges and never give up.

My journey through injury and recovery challenged every single part of who I am, but it taught me how to push through doubt, frustration, and uncertainty. There were times when things felt impossible, but I never gave up.The experience taught me that “impossible” is just a word, but with the resilience I have developed, I now know that anything is possible. I am very thankful for this opportunity and hope that my story can inspire others facing their own obstacles.”
2024 Scholarship Winner: Lucilda Hodge
The Largey Law Firm would like to congratulate Lucilda Hodge as the 2024 Overcoming the Impossible Scholarship winner!
Lucilda Hodge is from Broward County, Florida and is currently a rising sophomore at Santa Fe College. She is majoring in History on a pre-law track, with plans to transfer to the University of Florida to attend law school.
In her own words, “When reading this email, I felt excitement rush through my veins. I honestly could not believe it, and receiving this scholarship fueled my motivation to never give up, even when it seemed like that was the only option. As someone who was diagnosed with lupus a few months before applying to this scholarship, receiving this is living proof to me that if you keep trying, no matter what, nothing can or will stop your success. I am so thrilled to receive this scholarship and hope to inspire anyone who reads this!”
2023 Scholarship Winner: Riley Schaudel

Riley attends Baylor University, majoring in Management Information Systems.

2022 Scholarship Winner: Marbella Deininger
